Mining truck painted pink for breast cancer

Yancoal Australia’s Premier Coal operation is digging deep and gone pink for breast cancer awareness by painting a haul truck tray bright pink.

With a few people at the mine watching family go through cancer treatment and an employee recently diagnosed, this new paint job is a sign of Premier Coal’s drive to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research across the Collie Community.

Premier Coal Operations Manager Jim Falconer was proud to support the cause.

“Sadly, we all know someone whether it be a friend or family member who has been affected by breast cancer. This is an important issue and a great opportunity for us to get involved and demonstrate our support with a splash of pink.

“We could not have given the truck its pink makeover without the amazing effort from our people and local businesses who donated their time and resources in honour of this great cause.

“Our people are our priority, six months ago we also painted a haul truck blue for mental health awareness and a tree at the entry to our site was coloured blue as part of the Blue Tree Project.

“We are confident these activities stand out across the operation and help bring some much-needed awareness to these critical issues among our people and in the local community,” said Jim.

Premier Coal aims to make a positive difference in the local community and to the lives of the people who work and live in Collie.
