Commercial Realty is throwing its support behind the Shire of Collie’s Energise Collie project, bringing its Business Incubator project to activate empty retail shops in Collie’s central business district.
The project is the outcome of discussions between the Council’s Economic Development Panel and Peter Blurton from Commercial Realty and is based on the Renew Newcastle project and Council’s Project Occupancy concept.
The project is a unique concept which provides the opportunity to trial business concepts for almost six months in a retail space prior to committing to a longer-term commercial tenancy.
“This project is a win-win-win situation,” Shire President Sarah Stanley said.
“It allows the businessperson to test their business concepts prior to committing to a longer-term retail tenancy and from a landlord perspective it fills an otherwise empty shop. The third win is that it will generate additional foot traffic in the Collie CBD which will benefit for other CBD businesses,” she added.
Several Collie property owners have already signed up to the project.
